Focus on Color
Participation in these skill-building classes requires completion through our Focus on Forms Class or a competency test with our studio manager. Coming into this series, you should be able to gather from the furnace, make a putty, work as both a gaffer and an assistant, and complete the six primary forms. In these sessions, you will focus on the application of color. It starts with applying colored frit and learning to transition from one color to another, twist color, and use color as a background. It moves on to the use of color bars and the application of color in an overlay. During the last two classes, there will be demonstrations (only) of cane and murrain making and how to incorporate them into a piece.
Please read and sign our safety waiver BEFORE coming to the studio.
