Glassblowing III: Focus on Color

Participation in these classes requires completion of our Intro to Glassblowing class or a competency test with our studio manager. Coming into this series, you should be able to gather from the furnace, make a punty, work as both a gaffer and an assistant, and complete basic forms in clear glass. In these sessions, you will focus on the application of color. It starts with applying colored frits and powders, learning to transition from one color to another, twist colors, and use color as a background. It moves on to the use of color bars and the application of color in an overlay. During the last two classes, there will be demonstrations on cane and murrine making and how to incorporate them into pieces.

Everyone who makes glass with us must read and sign our online safety waiver. Please be sure to add attendee emails to your guest list.

If participants are under the age of 18, the safety waiver must be read and signed by their parent or legal guardian with the child’s name as the participant.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your reservation for your safety orientation and color selection. Failure of all participants to arrive 15 minutes early may result in the loss of your reservation or the inability to finish all your pieces in the allotted time frame.
